BIG CLUBS CHASE ZAHA

Wilfried Zaha has been the subject of a number of transfer rumours in the January transfer window. He has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United, but Crystal Palace are quick to acknowledge that the youngster should be concentrating on his current club at the moment.

They have warned him that he should not get carried away with the current interest he has been getting in the transfer window and that only the current performances will matter in football. Crystal Palace captain Patrick McCarthy has said that Wilfried Zaha is definitely a special talent, but he needs to have a grip on himself amidst all the transfer rumours.

Liverpool have been signing a number of British young talent these days and Wilfried Zaha is the latest player to be associated with the club. It is thought that manager Kenny Dalglish would want to make Wilfried Zaha one of his important signings in the January transfer window. “Wilfried is a special talent, probably the most naturally gifted individual I have come across in my career, and this is the perfect club for him at the moment. Every week, you see the improvement in these kids because they are being managed the right way. It would be criminal for these lads to move on too soon in their careers,” he told reporters.

In order to warn Wilfried Zaha, Paddy McCarthy gave the example of John Bostock – a former Crystal Palace player, who has gone down the hill after being initially touted by a number of big clubs. John Bostock was regarded as one of the greatest potential at the age of 16, but he is yet to turn out in the same way many scouts predicted. McCarthy is hoping that Zaha does not turn out to be another case of a failure.
