LAWRENCE IS CONFIDENT

The Crystal Palace assistant manager Lennie Lawrence has said that he is confident that the manager Dougie Freedman will be able to overcome the disappointing start made by Crystal Palace to the new season. Dougie Freedman has overseen four consecutive defeats by Crystal Palace at the start of the new season, which has put them bottom of the Championship table. Things certainly do not seem to be improving for the moment because they will be facing a tough run-in that includes teams like Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff city. Yet, the assistant manager of the club, Lennie Lawrence believes that Dougie Freedman has enough quality to get Crystal Palace out of this tough situation.

Lawrence has said that Dougie Freedman regularly gets his advice over various issues. He has also said that he is currently enjoying his role as the assistant manager of the club at Selhurst Park. He has acknowledged that it will be a difficult season for Crystal Palace to compete in the Championship given their financial troubles, but is hoping that the quality of the manager will be able to get them out of trouble. He has also said that the club are working towards bringing in a few players before the end of the transfer window.

“We’re in a little difficult situation at the moment, so he’s got to manage his way out of that. I think Dougie has got a lot of ingredients you need to be a successful manager these days. Others will come with experience and it’s a test as every day is different and a challenge in management. But he’s shown the capability to cope so far because we had a relegation battle when we first came to the club and hopefully there won’t be one this year. I think he’s got the potential to do it and have some outstanding qualities in a manager,” said Lawrence.
