Newcastle United are reportedly confident that they can seal a big transfer for Crystal Palace winger EberechiEzein the summer. This is according to the report from The Sun which stated that the Magpies wanted to take Eze on loan during the January transfer window, but they were unable to convince Crystal Palace to part with the player albeit temporarily. The Magpies are said to be planning a £45m raid on Palace for the player ahead of resumption of the transfer window this summer.

England u-21 international Eze has not featured much for Palace since the start of this season due to injury. If Newcastle United are successful with their latest attempt to sign him from Crsytal Palace, the South London team would make a significant profit on the player having signed him from English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) at the start of last season. Eze moved from one side of London to the other for £17m at the start of last season. In his debut season as a Crystal Palace player, he was the standout performer at the club.

Newcastle United spent the most money during the January transfer window as they bid to retain their Premier League status beyond this season and it looks like they have already started looking at the players to sign this summer going by the news concerning their renewed interest in Crystal Palace star Eze.

The Magpies now have a lot of cash to spend on new players after the takeover by the Saudi-led consortium last year October. They signed five new players last month and they have all contributed their quota to get Newcastle United out of the relegation zone. They are now four points clear of the bottom three in the Premier League after winning their last three matches in the competition.
