ZAHA WAS MAIN REASON

England international Wilfried Zaha was one of the main reasons behind Crystal Palace getting promoted into the Premier league. The club managed to benefit from the presence of Zaha in the second half of the season even though he was sold to Manchester United for around £ 10 million. The fee would rise to £ 15 million depending upon his success to Old Trafford. Former manager Sir Alex Ferguson decided to keep Zaha at Selhurst Park because the player could continue getting regular first-team football. However, he is expected to be part of the first-team plans at United this season.

Hence, Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has ruled out the possibility of their star returning to the club on a loan deal. He has said that Zaha has more than given Crystal Palace their fair share of happiness. The player was influential in the play-off final victory over Watford, which confirmed their promotion to the Premier league. Holloway has recently been speaking about the lack of transfer activity at the club. Immediately after promotion, Holloway said that the looking to strengthen the squad so as to not repeat the mistakes he did at Blackpool only recently.

The outspoken manager, though, is finding it difficult to attract players to the club.

“I don’t think that deal should even be in their dreams. I think he fulfilled their dreams a month ago. I wish him all the best in his Manchester United career and well done to them for buying him. Sir Alex Ferguson very rarely gets them wrong and David Moyes will be delighted he’s found that talent in his midst because he can win games at the very, very top level. He wants to learn and he’s going to learn, but he’s already got 100 games under his belt for Palace,” said Zaha.
