PALACE TARGET AVAILABLE FOR SALE – REPORT

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is reportedly available for sale this summer. This is according to the report from English publication Daily Express which stated that the Gunners don’t mind selling the England junior international. The striker has been linked with a host of clubs in this summer’s transfer window including Crystal Palace.

Apart from South London club Crystal Palace, fellow London team West Ham United and German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in him. Arsenal offered Nketiah a new deal to extend the current one which has one year to run but the player turned it down thereby prompting club officials to make him available for sale. The Gunners will have to sell him this summer or risk losing him without a dime next summer.

England player Nketiahwas sent on loan to Leeds United at the start of last season before the one-year loan deal was cut short during the winter part of the season to return to Arsenal. Nketiah became a regular in the first team squad upon his return to the Emirates Stadium thanks to manager Mikel Arteta who had just been named the new Gunners boss. He battled with Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette for the lone striker slot for the rest of last season as Arsenal won the FA Cup title. Last season, Nketiah didn’t see first team opportunities like the previous season.

Crystal Palace have a new manager in Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira and they are one of many teams keen to sign the 22-year-old striker as pointed out earlier. Ex-Arsenal skipper Vieira was appointed the new Eagles earlier this month in place of veteran manager Roy Hodgson who left the club at the end of last season when his contract ran out. Former French national team player Vieira is expected to usher in a new era at Selhurst Park and Nketiah could be a part of that new era if the Eagles can see off Bayer Leverkusen and others interested in the Arsenal striker.
